Pine Grove Program

Honored American Veterans Afield HAVA was conceived and organized in 2007 by a Committee of shooting sports industry executives to help the healing and re-integration of disabled combat veterans back into normal American life through participation in outdoor events. Seven companies committed funds and personnel to organize and sponsor initial HAVA sanctioned activities, and will serve on the Board of Directors, along with new Sustaining Sponsors for a period of three years to insure that the organization is launched in the proper manner. The mission of the Pine Grove Program is to aid American heroes and their families that have survived man-made or natural disasters such as 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, or spent time defending our country in the Armed Forces and suffer PTSD or other physical and/or emotional disabilities.

We are now donating 12 trips of a lifetime to these individuals and families. One will be chosen each month and recipients will have opportunities to tell their stories in future issues of Outdoors Magazine. We believe that surviving tragedy not only affects the person involved, but the entire family unit. Offered to the recipient is a week’s lodging with meals, and 2-days guide service. This program is offered at no cost to the attendee, being covered by Pine Grove Lodge, corporate sponsorship, and donations.
